Qualifications for Advertised Positions

1. Deputy County Secretary

• Prospective applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in either Public Administration, Business Management, Strategic Management etc. from an accredited institution.
• Candidate must possess a minimum of ten (10) years practical work experience including occupying top management positions.
• Applicant must have a proper understanding of devolution laws, County development goals and as well Kenya Vision 2030.
• Candidate must have participated in a professional management or leadership training at any recognized institution.

2. Assistant Director, Human Resource Management

• Ideal candidate for this role is one that holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or a comparable position from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Those with HND in Human Resource Management can as well apply.
• Interested candidates with a Master’s degree have an added advantage.
• Candidate must be a registered and recognized member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
• He or she must possess a total of three (3) years relevant work experience as Principal Human Resource Management officer or equivalent role.
• Candidates going for this role must be conversant with relevant Microsoft windows applications.

3. Director Accounting Services

• This role is open to persons with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Applicants interested in this position must have a minimum of ten (10) years work experience including holding a senior management position.
• Candidates are expected to be Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and also have valid membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
• Prospective applicant must be ICT inclined and as well proficient in Microsoft office applications.

4. Principal Medical Engineering Officer

• Persons applying for this position should have either Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma or Ordinary Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering or a comparable course of study.
• Candidate should be experienced and as well conversant with radiology, laboratory and theatre, ICU equipment etc.
• Applicant must have completed a one (1) month management training course.
• Candidate must be aware of Turnkey Hospital projects and as well have professional membership with AMEK.

5. Assistant Director, Human Resource Management

• Ideal candidate for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management.
• Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
• Candidates with Master’s have an added advantage.
• Applicant must have at least three (3) years work experience as PHRM.

General Requirements for Vihiga County Recruitment 2025

• Citizenship: All candidates applying for Vihiga County Public Service Board must be Kenyan citizens who possess current National Identity Card or Passport.
• Compliance: Shortlisted candidates shall be required to present clearance certificates as specified in chapter six of Kenya constitution from authorities like; Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loan Board (HELB), Ethic Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and Credit Reference Bureau etc.
