Eligibility Criteria for TSC Recruitment 2025/2026
General eligibility criteria for all Teachers Service Commission (TSC) applicants include:
- The prospective applicant should be a Kenyan citizen.
- He/She MUST be a registered teacher with the TSC (having a TSC number) as those who are not registered teachers will not be considered for recruitment.
- Applicants who have different names on their certificates MUST present affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declaration Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain why there is a variation in the names.
- Applicants who re-sat for KCSE or KCPE must present the certified copies and a letter from the Head of institution together with a copy of KNEC print out from the school if the exam was cancelled.
- Applicants should have the required academic and professional qualifications for the position.
- Applicants should have a valid National Identity Card or valid method of identification.
- Applicants must not have been dismissed from the teaching service or have any criminal offense or history.
- Applicants should avoid submitting false information as it will lead to automatic disqualification.
- Applicants will be invited for verification of documents and they would be informed of the interview venue and date on the TSC website at least 7 days from the date of the job announcement.
- During physical verification, applicants would be given serial number and would be required to submit original copies of their certificates for sighting and clear photocopies of their national identification card, certificate of registration, evidence of completion of upgrade diploma in primary teacher education, PTE certificate, KCSE Certificate, KCPE certificate, letter of certification of results by KNEC (where applicable), primary and secondary school leaving certificates, national council of persons with disabilities (NCPWD) card (where applicable) and an affidavit if the names on the certificates are different from each other.
