The Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) formerly known as Rural Electrification Authority (REA) officially commenced operation in 2019 as a result of the Energy Act.

Eligibility Criteria for REREC Recruitment 2025

Identity Card: To apply for job vacancies at Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), applicant must be a Kenyan citizen with valid National Identity Card or Passport.

Clearance Certificates: In fit to chapter six (6) of Kenyan constitution, applicant must possess clearance documents/certificates from authorities such as HELB, KRA, DCI, CRB, and EACC etc.

K.C.S.E: Fundamentally, every applicant is expected to have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) with at least D+ mean grade including English and Kiswahili language.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

To cement the above, the qualifications, years of experience and skills required for each position goes as follows:

1. Manager, Administration

• Candidates applying for this position must have both Bachelor and Master’s degree in either Human Resource Management, Public Administration or a related discipline.
• Those with equivalent qualifications from an accredited institution may proceed to apply.
• Ideal candidate must have a relatable ten (10) years of work experience including handing managerial roles.
• Candidate must have attended a professional leadership or management training for a minimum period of four (4) weeks at any recognized institution.
• Candidate should have affiliation and active membership with relevant professional bodies.
• Candidate must be ICT inclined especially with packages that relates to this role.

2. Principal Security Officer

• Applicants interested in this vacancy must have completed a Bachelor and Master’s degree in either Criminology, Security Management or a closely related discipline.
• Both certifications must be issued by an accredited and recognized institution.
• Applicant must have undergone a professional leadership or management course that lasted for one (1) month at a recognized institution.
• Due to the nature of the job, applicant must be physically, mentally and medically fit.
• Candidate must also have professional qualification and membership with relevant professional body. 
• Candidate must have at least eight (8) years’ experience as a security personnel of a discipline force and must have gotten to the rank of an inspector.

3. Principal Forensic Auditor

• Applicant of this position must have a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Business Administration, and Engineering etc. 
• Should possess professional IT security qualification like CISA, CIA, CISM or CRISK etc.
• It is more acceptable for candidates for possess at least eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
• Affiliation with professional body such as Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA), ACFE, EBK or ACFA etc.
• Due to the nature of this job, candidate must have attended a management or leadership course that lasted for at least four (4) weeks at any accredited institution.

4. Manager Energy Centres

• Applicants of this role must have both Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in either Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy, Entrepreneurship, Engineering or an equivalent course.
• Candidate must have gained at least ten (10) years related work experience.
• Should be an active member of any relevant professional body.
• Must have a certificate in management or leadership training course that lasted for one (1) month.
