Basic Requirements for ODPP Jobs 2025

Citizenship: Candidates interested in applying for Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions recruitment must hail and reside in Kenya with valid National Identity Card or Passport.

KCSE: Applicants must have at least mean D grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) including English and Kiswahili languages.

Constitutional Adherence: Applicants must comply with the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Kenya constitution by possessing relevant clearance documents/certificates from KRA, HELB, DCI, EACC etc.

Job Duties and Qualifications

The responsibilities and qualifications for announced positions are as follow:

1. Administrative Officer I

This officer shall develop policies and strategies that allows efficient administrative flow. Manage outsourced services and provide general safety and security. Office shall be reporting to the Principal Administration Office for delegated administrative duties.

Ideal candidate for this role must:

  • Have complete a Degree program from an accredited institution in either Public or Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Management etc.
  • Applicant must have a total of three (3) years’ work experience in relevant position either in a private or public organization.
  • Applicant must be able to work under pressure to catch up with inconvenient deadlines.

2. Assistant Director, Human Resource Development

This officer shall execute duties supporting the Senior Assistant Director by managing human resource development functions, formulation of relevant policies, assessing the need for staff training, observe legal compliance and as well manage budget and reports.

  • Qualified candidate must have a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in either Human Resource Management, Public Administration or a close related academic discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Must have an accumulate 9 years of relevant work experience and 3 years of these must be in managerial position.
  • Candidate must be a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP).
  • Must have professional membership and practicing license from Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
  • Must have attended Senior Management Course for at least one (1) month from an accredited institution.

3. Clerical Officer II

This position is open for entry level officers. Your functions shall include managing the filing system, updating ledgers, drafting simple correspondences and operate available office equipment.

  • Applicant must have grade C plan in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), certificate in computer application from a recognized institution.

4. Personal Secretary II

Officer shall report directly to the Senior Personal Secretary and carry out duties such as typing documents, maintaining office equipment, handling mails and manage confidential records etc.

  • Applicant must have qualifications from Kenya National Examinations Council such as; Typewriting III, Computerizes Document Processing III, Shorthand III, Secretarial Duties II, Office Management, Business English III.
  • Must have certificate in computer applications like MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet from an accredited institution.

5. Principal Public Affairs and Corporate Communication officer

The fundamental responsibilities of this officer include managing ODPP branding, maintenance and updating website content, executive PR functions, foster the creation and distribution of newsletters.

  • Applicant of this role must have a Bachelor’s degree and Postgraduate diploma in either Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or any other social science course.
  • Applicant must be a registered and active member of Public Relations Society of Kenya.
  • Must attend a Senior Management Course for at least one (1) month from an accredited institution.
