Eligibility Criteria for Nyeri County Recruitment 2025

These are the general requirements all candidates must meet irrespective of the position they wish to apply.

• Citizenship: Only Kenyan indigenes with acceptable National Identity Card or Passport should submit application. Additionally, candidate must be residing in the country.
• KCSE Result: A minimum of D+ mean grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) or equivalent qualification is required.

Requirements for Appointment

To get appointed for any of the advertised vacancies, here are the specific requirements to be put on check.

1. County Secretary

• Persons interested in this position must possess an undergraduate degree in Communication, Linguistics or any other relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
• A general work experience of five (5) years and five (5) years in senior management role making it a total of ten (10) years of work experience is required.
• Whether you served in the Public or Private sector, what matters is the length of experience.
• Applicant must be a Certified Secretary.
• Should possess strategic public communication skills.
• Must be experienced in policy making.

2. Fire Men

• Applicant should be a certified Fireman II from any approved Fire Service training school.
• Must have complete a one (1) week or more First Aid training at St. Johns Ambulance or KIHBT.
• Applicant must be medically, physically and mentally fit.
• Should have zero criminal record nor currently face criminal trial at the moment.
• Applicant is expected to hold a drivers license for heavy commercial vehicles and also be certified in Diving, NFTA, EMR etc.

3. Social Welfare Officer

• Interested candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in either Social Work, Community Development, Sociology or any other relevant discipline,
• Candidate should have no criminal background not pending charges.
• Must possess KCSE or KCPE certificate.

4. Director of Youth Affairs and Sports

• Ideal candidate is expected to have both Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in either Physical Education, Sports, Leisure or Recreation Management, Social Sciences etc. from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Having experience in Sport management for at least seven (7) years is mandatory.
• Applicant must have participate in a strategic management or leadership course that lasted for a minimum of six (6) weeks at any accredited institution.

5. Chief Officer, Finance and Accounting

• This role is meant for people with a degree or equivalent qualification in either Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
• Applicant must be a certified Public Accountant and must have passed the Part III test.
• Should be a registered and active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience is required.
• Five (5) of those years must have been in a leadership position.
• Candidate must be conversant with Programme Based Budgeting, Planning and Financial analysis.
• Those with a Master’s degree would be preferred.
