About Meru County Public Service Board
Meru County is in the eastern part of the country with over 6,000+ square kilometers sharing border with Isiolo, Tharaka, Nyeri, and Laikipia counties. Currently, there are over 1,000,000+ persons residing in the county.
To foster the actualization of set goals, the Meru County Government established the Public Service Board and mandated them with the following functions:
- Formulation of policies for the Public Service with consultation of the County Assembly.
- The board establishes or terminate offices, appoints and also terminate contract with holders of these offices.
- The board shall carry out disciplinary actions on offenders while enforcing professional code of conduct and work ethics across all departments of the service.
- The board shall ensure qualitative service delivery by the Public Service.
- Shall make suggestions to the Government on areas such as Human Resource Management, sustaining socio-economic programs etc.

Eligibility Requirements for Meru County Recruitment 2025
- Citizenship: Applicants interested in applying for the 2025 Public Service Board jobs in Meru County must hail from Kenya and possess a valid National Identity card or Passport.
- Age: Applicant should not be below 20 years.

Qualifications for Meru County Government Recruitment 2025
Below is a detailed requirements that qualifies you for each position:
1. Member of Board
- Interested applicant must be a citizen of Kenya and currently resides in the country if possible Meru County.
- Candidate must not be a public officer or hold any political position in the stage.
- Applicants must have first degree or equivalent qualification issued by a recognized institution in Kenya.
- Persons with Master’s degree have an added advantage.
- Candidates applying must also have a minimum of five (5) or more years of work experience in discipline such as Human Resource Management, Law, Education, Agriculture etc.
- Candidate must understand and able to management diversity within the county.
2. Chairperson
- Ideal candidate for this position is one who have over ten (10) years’ experience in Human Resource Development, Organization Development or a relevant field.
- Candidate must have complete an undergraduate degree in any relevant course at an accredited university in Kenya. Persons with Master’s degree have an edge.
- Interested applicant must not be holding any state or public office in recent times.
- Applicant must have inherent good managerial and leadership skills.
- Must know how best to work and meet up with strict deadlines.
- Candidate must be skillful in handling diversity.
- Should be conversant with the constitution and other relevant devolution laws.
- Must be a visional and strategic leadership with good decision making skill.
