Overview of Machakos County Public Service Board
The Machakos County before now was the city capital of Kenya. It shares boarder with Nairobi, Kiambu, West, Embu, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Murang’a and Kirinyaga. The County is committed to the betterment of the city, its people and the environs.
This is seen through developmental initiative, structural projects and other relevant socio-economic program. Machakos has a total of eight (8) constituencies namely; Machakos Town, Mavoko, Masinga, Yatta, Kangundo, Kathiani, Matungulu, and Mwala etc.
On the other hand, the Machakos County Public Service Board oversees, coordinate, create and terminate offices, as well as appoint eligible candidates for vacancies in the Public Service.

Eligibility Criteria for Machakos County Recruitment 2025
- Valid Proof of Identity: Interested applicant of this recruitment exercise must have a Kenyan National Identity Card or Passport.
- KCSE Result: Prospective applicant should have the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with the least mean grade of D+.
- Clearance Documents: In fulfillment of Kenya chapter six constitution, prospective applicants are expected to possess valid clearance certificates from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loan Board (HELB), Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) and EACC etc.

Qualifications/Requirements for Machakos County Government Jobs 2025
In addition to the eligibility criteria, below are the specifications for each vacant positions advertised by Machakos County Public Service Board.
1. Registered Nurse I
- Interested applicant must hold a Diploma or HND in either Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Community Health etc. from an accredited institution.
- Applicant is expected to be a registered member of Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid practising license.
- Must also be conversant with relevant computer applications.
2. Enrolled Nurse III
- Candidate must be a graduate of Diploma or Higher National Diploma in discipline such as Kenya Enrolled Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Midwife, and Kenya Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse etc. from an accredited higher institution.
- Applicant must possess a valid registration certificate and practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
3. Medical Specialist I (Physician Intemist)
- Persons who have interested for this position must hold a Pharmacy degree (B.Pharm) from an accredited university in Kenya and one also recognized by the Pharmacy and Poison Board.
- Additionally, prospective applicant should hold a Master’s degree in either Clinical Pharmacy, Toxicology, Narcotic or Psychotropic Substances Control etc.
- Only registered and certified members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya are allowed to apply. Candidate must also hold a valid practicing license issued by the board.
- Applicant must have completed a one (1) month strategic leadership development programme at any accredited institution.
- Must also be a computer literate.
4. Medical Laboratory Officer
- Ideal candidate for this position is one with first degree in either Medical Laboratory Service or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- The institution you attended must also be approved by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
- Applicant must also hold a registration certified and practicing license issued by KMLTTB.
5. Mortician
- Applicant must have a minimum of one (1) year experience.
- Should be a registered member of any recognized funeral professional association.
- Must have complete at least 3-months training in embalming, mortuary science or funeral service education.
