When is Lamu County Public Service Recruitment 2025 Starting?

The County Government of Lamu on 12th May 2025 announced job vacancies in the Public Service Board (PSB) and currently invites applications from interested persons either online or offline (hard copy application).

The Board has reiterated that the jobs application form is free of charge and no candidate at any point shall be requested to make payment. Thus, detach yourself from such opportunities.

Overview of Lamu County

Lamu County is often referred to as a “small group of island” being that it situates on the Country’s Northern Coast line. The total land area of the County is 6.474.7 Km2 sharing boarder to the Indian Ocean eastside, Tana River, Garrissa District, and Somali.

The County Public Service Board plays a pivotal role in government affairs. The board is vested with the power to carry out delegations such as:

Establishing of new offices in the County Public Service.
Cancelling existing or new offices that are no longer needed in the Public Service.
Carrying out regular recruitment exercise to fit suitable candidates into vacant offices.
Making reports to the County Assembly on the flow of things.
Ensuring the standardized professional conduct and work ethics are upheld in the Public Service Board.
Make relevant recommendations or suggestions to the government on Human Resource or other trending matters.

Eligibility Criteria for Lamu County Jobs 2025

Prospective applicant of this recruitment exercise must hail from Kenya and currently possess a National Identity Card or Passport.
Persons that live in Lamu County have an added advantage.
A minimum of D+ mean grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) including English and Kiswahili languages are required.
Candidate must be one with good communication, interpersonal and reporting skills, and good team player.
In accordance to the constitution chapter 6 requirements, all applicants must hold valid clearance certificates from Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loan Board, Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Ethic-Anti Corruption Commission etc.
Furthermore, interested persons who have been convicted before by the court of law are not eligible to apply.

Qualifications for Lamu County Government Recruitment 2025

Based on the position you wish to apply, below are the key criteria to meet. This includes academic, professional qualifications and work experience etc.

1. Senior Accountant I

Persons interested in this role should hold First degree in either Commerce, Business Administration or a relevant course from an accredited institution.
Applicant must have aced the Part II of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examination.
He or she must have a recognized certificate in Computer applications.

2. Accountant I

Ideal candidate is one with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Commerce, Finance or a related course.
Candidate must have passed the Part II of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examination.
Candidate must also be a computer literate.

3. Internal Auditor II

Applicant must have a Degree in Commerce.
Should be a member of relevant professional bodies.
Those with two (2) years and above work experience have an added advantage.
Applicant must have succeeded in the CPA Part II or Part III examination.

4. Supply Chain Management Officer

Interested candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in either Business Administration or a comparable course.
Candidate is expected to be an active member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or an equivalent professional body.
Relevant years of work experience is a plus.
Candidate must be proficient in relevant computer packages.

5. Radiographer III

Candidates suitable for this role must have completed a Diploma program in Ultra Sound, Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent course from any accredited tertiary institution.
Candidate must hold a valid computer training certificate.
