Eligibility for KFS Recruitment 2025/2026
What makes you eligible to apply for the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) recruitment are:
Citizenship: Fundamentally, applicants of this recruitment are expected to be Kenya indigenes with valid National Identity Card or Passport and preferably within the age of 18 to 35 years.
Education: On a more basic level, applicant must have a minimum of D+ mean grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) including Kiswahili and English languages.
Necessary Clearance: According to chapter six (6) of the Kenya constitution, applicant must have certificate of good conduct from DCI, clearance certificate from HELB and KRA PIN certificate.
Personal competencies: Relevant skills such as communication, team spirit, and time management, analytical and reporting capabilities are pivotal.
Requirements for Open Vacancies
Apart from the general eligibility criteria, here are the role specific requirements that makes you the ideal candidate.
1. Communication Expert
This officer shall foster communication training programs meant for staff, KALRO, FAO, and external staff. Shall develop and execute relevant communication measures to disseminate research findings to the audience.
To qualify for this role:
- A degree in either Communication, Journalism, Social Science, International Relations etc. is required. Those with Master’s degree have an added advantage.
- Professional membership with Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).
- Accumulative f 6-years’ experience in closely related positions is required.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication in both English and Kiswahili languages are necessary.
2. Senior Pilot (Helicopter)
As the post insinuates, officer shall operate and manage the aircraft management, develop flight plans, fuel the aircraft and ensure appropriate communication with tower during flight missions.
Idea candidate for this role must:
- Have a valid Commercial Pilot’s License (CPL) or ATPL
- Eye clarity must be 20/20
- Have over 2000 total fight time
- Possess current and acceptable instrument rating for fixed wing pilot.
- Must be proficient on Kenya Civil Aviation Regulation.
- Possess strong command of English language.
3. Project Assistant
As the project assistant, your duty is simply to provide necessary support to project management unit in implement relevant activities to ensure the seamless run of projects.
- Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Business Administration, Project Management, Natural Resources or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Applicant must have at least three (3) years’ experience relevant to this position.
4. Knowledge, Monitoring and Evaluation Expert
- Masters and bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management or equivalent course from an approved institution.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in relevant position is required.
5. Customer Care Assistant
- Applicant of this role must have a Certificate in Public Relations and Customer care from an accredited institution.
6. Assistant Office Administrator II
- Applicant must have a BES & GC from KNECT in either Type Writing II, Office Management II, Business English II or Office Practice II etc. or a Certificate in Public Relations and Customer Care course.
- Must be a certified member of Kenya National Secretaries Association (KENASA)
7. Library Assistant II
- Applicant must have a Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Information Science or Library Science from a recognized institution.
8. Survey Assistant
- Ideal candidate must have completed a Diploma program in Surveying or related course.
- Certification must be from an approved institution.
- Candidate must be a recognized member of Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK)
9. Inspector of Roads
- Candidate must have a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
10. Driver III
- Applicant must have D+ in KCSE
- Current driving license for diverse classes of vehicles
- Suitability test certificate of Grade III
- A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience as a driver
- Occupational test grade III certificate
- First-Aid training from KIHBT or another recognized institution
