Responsibilities & Requirements
The Green Finance for Youth Employment (GFYE) program execution is in Kenya under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and implemented by IFAD scheduled for 2024 till 2027.
As the Finnish Junior Professional Officer, you shall support with IFAD’s country programme in Kenya by carrying out the following functions:
- Managing and spotting oversight of grants within the GFYE projects.
- Ensure that all donor meet requirements and internal policies.
- Assist with coordination between project stakeholders and technical partners
- Aid in communicating and voicing efforts with regards to the GFYE project.
- Monitor and assess the GFYE project.
- Support the formation and execution of capacity building activities of the GYFE project.

Requirements:
Citizenship: Interested candidate must be an indigene of Kenya or Finnish holding a government-approved Passport or National Identity Card. Applicant must be residing in Kenya.
Age: Applicant must not exceed 32 years of age at the time applying.
Education: Ideal candidate must hold an accredited university Master’s degree in either Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, International Development, Political Science, Economics, Climate & Environmental Studies etc. Must also have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the above field.
Experience: Preferably, employable candidate must have at least two (2) years professional work experience related to sustainable development, project management, rural development etc.
Language: Applicant must be proficient in English language and have knowledge of Finnish or Swedish.
Technical Skills: Applicant must possess problem-solving skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, thematic expertise in relation to IFAD’s mandate and the GFYE project and a good command of MS office applications etc.
