General Requirements for Garissa County Government Jobs 2025

Fundamentally, interested applicants must meet the criteria below irrespective of the position they wish to apply.

• Clearance: Prospective applicant must be law abiding and adherence to chapter six of the constitution by possess clearance certificates from the Higher Education Loan Board, Kenya Revenue Authority, Credit Reference Bureau, Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Ethic-Anti Corruption Commission etc.

Qualifications for Garissa County Public Service Vacancies 2025

The County Government shall only shortlist candidates who matches the qualifications, experience and requirements below.

1. Municipal Manager

• Interested applicant must possess first degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution in Kenya.
• Candidate must have gained five (5) or more professional work experience relating to administration or management.
• Interested applicant must be a resident of Garissa County or hold a permanent residence permit.
• Applicants who have completed a Senior Management Course at Kenya School of Government have an added advantage.

2. Chairperson

• Ideal candidate for this position is one with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in relevant course of study.
• Candidate is expected to have a minimum of 10 years professional work experience especially in management positions.
• Candidates work antecedent must not show the breach of professional code of conduct.
• Applicant must be conversant with the National and County government goals.
• Must understand the operations and framework of the Public Service.
• Should be a person of high integrity, professionalism and good leadership skills.

3. Assistant Director, Nutrition & Dietetics Services

• Persons who prefer this role must hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a comparable discipline from any accredited tertiary institution.
• In addition, applicant should hold a Master’s of Science in any of the above discipline.
• It is mandatory to be a registered and recognized member of Kenya Nutritionist and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).

4. CEO, Garissa County Level 5 Referral Hospital

• Ideal candidates for this position is someone with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Health Management, Business Administration or any other relevant course.
• Candidate should possess nothing less than ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
• He or she must have completed a certified management or leadership training course for a duration of one (1) at any accredited institution.
• Applicant must be discipline financially and also understand how best to manage cost and revenues.
