The Government of Kisumu County first established the County Public Service Board in 2019 in line with section 56 & 57 of the County Government Act. This board is set to act as checks and balance, while executing delegated functions without fear, favour or prejudice.

The main functions of Kisumu County Public Service Board (CPSB) are as follows:

• Form and dissolve offices in the County Public Service.
• Recruit persons deem fit for open vacancies in the Public Service.
• The Board shall enforce professional conduct and principles across all departments of the service.
• Offer relevant recommendations to the County Government on Human Resource management, development, implementation and monitoring of national performance.

Eligibility Criteria for Kisumu County Recruitment 2025

Citizenship: Persons applying for Kisumu County Public Service Board recruitment exercise must be Kenyan citizen or permanent dweller of the County who possess current National Identity Card or Passport.

Necessary Clearance: Interested persons applying must fulfill the provision of chapter 6 of Kenya constitution by holding current clearance certificates from authorities such as; HELB, KRA, DCI, EACC, and CRB etc.

KCSE: Prospective applicant are expected to possess the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with at least D+ or D (plain) mean grade or holds an equivalent qualification.

Skills: Applicants must be conversant with a multi-cultural environment, be proficient in relevant computer applications, and possess good communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications for Kisumu County Public Service Recruitment 2025

1. Public Service Board Member

• Persons applying must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Interested applicants with a Master’s degree have an added advantage.
• Having five or more years of professional work experience in Human Resource Management or administration is an added advantage.
• Candidate must be a person of integrity who has not breach professional code of conduct in previous employment.
• Applicant must not be a public or state office holder.
• Must not be a member of any political party.
• Should be able to work under pressure to meet close deadline.

2. Secretary

• Ideal candidate for this position is one with first degree or Master’s in relevant field of study.
• Candidate must be a Certified Public Secretary registered with relevant professional body.
• Must have over four (4) years of work experience.
• Candidate must not be a member governing body of political party or parliament.
• Candidate must not have contested for a political position in the last five (5) years.

3. Public Service Chairperson

• Interested candidates must possess outstanding leadership skills including being visionary, strategic thinker, good decision marker and ability to work under pressure.
• Prospective applicant must currently not hold a Public or State office.
• Should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree but those with master’s have an added advantage.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in administration or management.
• Should be law abiding and conversant with the County Government goals as well as National developmental goals and vision 2030.
• Candidate must not hold a Public or State office at the time of application nor contested for political position in the last five (5) years.

4. Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III

• Candidates applying for any assistant vocation trainer post irrespective of the trade must hold a Diploma from an accredited institution.
• Should be registered with TVET authority.
• Candidate must have complete the Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) training.

5. Quantity Surveyor

• Interested applicants of this position must hold a valid Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics etc.
• Should be a registered and active member of Architectural Association of Kenya or Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya.
