About Tharaka-Nithi County Public Service Board
Tharaka-Nithi is one of the outstanding amongst the fourty seven (47) counties of Kenya boasting of over 2,662.1 km2. It shares borders with Embu, Meru, Kirinyiga, Nyeri, and Kitui etc.
The County Public Service Board (CPSB) was established by the County Government in line with relevant Act to carry out functions such as; appointment of persons for offices in the County Pubic Service, creation or termination or relevant offices in the service etc.
The board do make reports on necessary activities of the Public Service to the County Assembly and as well make recommendations to the government on relevant issues.

When will Tharaka-Nithi County Recruitment Start & Close?

Eligibility Criteria for Every Candidate
- Nationality: The County Government of Tharaka-Nithi demands that only Kenyan citizens holding a valid National Identity Card or Passport can submit application for open vacancies.
- KCSE Result: Interested candidates must have a D+ mean grade or more in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with English and Kiswahili languages inclusive.
- Adherence to Constitution: In demonstrating compliance with chapter six (6) of Kenyan constitution, applicant must hold valid clearance certificates from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB, KRA, DCI, EACC and CRB etc.

Qualifications for Tharaka-Nithi County Government Recruitment 2025
Applicants that shall be considered for appointment are those who meet the requirements below.
1. Senior Medical Specialist (anesthesiologist)
- Individuals interested in this position must have first degree and Master’s degree in either Medical and Surgery or Anesthesia from an institution approved by the Kenya Medical Practitioners.
- Applicant is expected to have gain over three (3) years’ work experience in relevant positions including Medical Specialist II.
- He or she must be a registered member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council. Valid practicing issued by this body is mandatory.
2. Registered Nurse (Accident and Emergency)
- Prospective applicants of this position must have either a Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Accident and Emergency Care Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Applicant must be a registered and licensed member of the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Should be formally recognized as an Accident and Emergency Care Nurse by NCK.
- Proficiency in relevant computer packages is pivotal.
3. Chairperson
- As the Chairperson, Tharaka-Nithi County Public Service Board, you’re expected to have over 10 years of professional work experience in Human Resource Management or Public Service.
- Applicant must hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in any social science discipline from an accredited university in Kenya.
- Should have no work antecedent of braking professional code of conduct.
- Must have proper understanding of the County’s vision and able to manage the diversity within.
- Applicant must be a strategic think and hold capacity to work under tense pressure to meet close deadlines.
4. County Secretary
- This position is most suitably for a candidate who possess both Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from recognized higher institutions.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years professional work experience relevant to this position.
- Candidate must not hold any State or Public Service.
- Should be a person of integrity with sound professional work antecedent.
- Been a member of relevant professional body and recognized as a Certified Public Secretary is pivotal.
