Requirements for TARDA Recruitment 2025/2026

Irrespective of the position you wish to apply, below are the eligibility criteria you must meet.

• Interested candidate must be a Kenyan citizen with valid National Identity Card or Passport.
• Candidates applying must not exceed 18 and 35 years of age.
• Every applicant must possess at least D+ mean grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) including English and Kiswahili language.
• Apart from driver position, candidate must possess either Diploma or Degree from an accredited institution.
• Academic disciplines such as Engineering, Communication, or any other social science course is acceptable.
• In fulfilment with chapter six (6) of Kenyan constitution, applicant must possess clearance certificates from Higher Education Loan Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Certificate of Good Conduct from Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), CRB and EACC etc.
• Applicant must be a member of relevant professional body.
• Candidate should be skillful in interpersonal relationship, communication, be good team member and ICT inclined.

Qualifications for TARDA Jobs 2025

In addition to the above eligibility criteria, below are the main qualification you must meet to gain employment.

1. Agricultural Engineering Technologist III

• Prospective applicants of this position must hold at least Diploma in Agricultural Engineer, Soil or Water Engineering or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Candidate must also possess a recognized certificate in relevant computer applications.
• Applicant should be a registered member of the Engineers Board of Kenya.

2. Agricultural Officer

• Candidates going for this role must possess a Bachelor’s of Science or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness Management and Enterprise Development etc.
• Candidate must be a member of relevant professional body.
• Must also be a computer literate.

3. Assistant Director, Agriculture

• Candidates aiming for this position must have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience as Principal Agricultural Officer or equivalent role.
• Prospective applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Agric Resource Management, Extension or Agriculture and Human Ecology etc.

How Does TARDA Job Selection Process Works?

The Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA) undergoes three (3) major phases in its recruitment exercise before final appointment for open vacancies.
