Eligibility Requirements for KNBS Recruitment 2025
To be considered for any of the listed roles, applicants must meet the following general criteria:
- Be a Kenyan citizen with a valid national ID or passport
- Possess relevant academic qualifications from a recognized institution
- Show that you are experienced with technical abilities for senior roles
- Be computer literate and proficient in data analysis tools
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution
In addition to the above eligibility criteria, below are the responsibilities and qualification for announced roles:
1. Director, Macroeconomics Statistics
Person occupying this position shall oversee the general activities of the Macroeconomics Statistics Directorate. This includes development, execution and coordination. To qualify for this post:
- Interested applicant must have a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in either Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a close academic discipline.
- Applicant must have an overall ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
- Applicant must possess good analytical and human resource management skills.
- Should be proficient in computer applications related to Macroeconomics Statistics.
- Experience, knowledge and expertise in financial management is a big plus.
2. Director, Population and Social Statistics
As the Director of Population and Social Statistics, your responsible shall include to coordinate technical support for population, health, social statistics, cartographic and geographical data.
Ideal candidate must:
- Possess a Degree (Bachelor & Masters) in Statistics or a related course.
- Certification must be from an accredited institution.
- Attending a Management and leadership training course of at least six (6) weeks is mandatory.
- Candidate must be willing to work in a collaborative environment.
- Must possess good interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
- Most minimal, interested applicant must have gained ten (10) years work experience.
3. Senior Manager, Nutrition & Environment Statistics
- Applicant must have complete Bachelor and Master’s degree program like Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics etc. from an accredited institution.
- Applicant must be a computer literate.
- Must have experience working as Manager of Statistics Department for at least three (3) years.
- Must have done a professional leadership or management course.
4. Director, Population and Social Statistics
This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and coordination of surveys and censuses related to population, health, labor, education, and other social sectors. You will also lead a team of statisticians, and publish and validate data.
Qualifications Needed:
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Demography, Economics, or related field is needed
- At least 10 years of experience in social statistics or similar role
- Proven leadership and strategic planning capabilities
5. Senior Manager, National Statistical System (KNBS/NSS/15/2025)
You will be responsible for the support of the development and coordination of Kenya’s national statistical system. This will mean working with other ministries, counties, and stakeholders to match data frameworks, ensure standards compliance, and manage initiatives.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manager grade position
- Familiarity with national policy planning and international statistical standards
- Candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
Monthly Remuneration:
- Basic Salary: Kshs. 169,380 to Kshs. 236,460
- House Allowance: Kshs. 50,000
- Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 20,000
- Extraneous Allowance: Kshs 30,000
6. Manager, Human Resource Development (KNBS/MHRD/15/2025)
The jobholder will plan and implement staff development programs, manage training schedules, evaluate capacity gaps, and support career progression initiatives in the organization.
Qualifications Needed:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in HR or staff development
- Must be a member of a recognized Human Resource management professional body
- Must have a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) lasting not less than six weeks or related qualifications from a recognized institution
Monthly Remuneration:
- Basic Salary: Kshs. 133,260 to Kshs. 189,960
- House Allowance: Kshs. 40,000
- Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 16,000
- Extraneous Allowance: Kshs. 20,000
