About Kenya Medical Supplies Authority

Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) was instituted by the Government and is operational under the Ministry of Health with the core mandate to; oversee the hoarding, distribution of drugs and medical supplies for designated public health programs.

The authority also assists diverse County Governments in Kenya to set up, run and manage appropriately the supply chain systems for drugs and medical supplies. The vision of KEMSA is to offer excellent health products and technologies and supply chain solutions across East Africa.

Objectives of KEMSA Internship & Industrial Attachment

• Internship: To ensure adequate transfer of knowledge, the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority do offer young graduates an opportunity to build real-time work experience, acquire new skills and develop in-depth capacity to boost chances in the labour market.
• Industrial Attachment: The aim of this program is to offer third or final year undergraduate students an avenue to practicalize their theoretical knowledge which will in turn boost their experience, confidence and perspectives even before graduation.
• Duration: KEMSA internship program is scheduled to run for twelve (12) months i.e. one (1) year while the duration for industrial attachment is three (3) months.

Interns shall be given monthly stipends throughout the designated duration.

Eligibility Criteria for Both Programs

• Interested applicants must be a citizen of Kenya and be within 18 and 35 years of age.
• Must have a valid National Identity Card or Passport.
• Must possess the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least D+ mean grade.
• Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must understand both English and Kiswahili languages.

Specific Requirements for Internship

• Persons applying for the internship program must possess either an HND or Degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Prospective candidate must have graduated within the last three (3) years.
• Must possess a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Should not be a previous beneficiary of this program.
• Should currently be unemployed.
• Shall present a valid certificate of good conduct.
• Must be available full-time throughout the internship duration.

Requirements of KEMSA Industrial Attachment 2025

• Applicant must be an undergraduate student of a recognized tertiary institution in Kenya.
• Shall provide an official recommendation letter from institution of studies duly signed by Head of Department or relevant authority.
• Shall provide a formal written application letter.
• Must possess a valid KRA PIN certificate, student insurance cover and police clearance certificate.
• Prospective applicant must be a continuing student due for attachment as required by institution of studies.
