Eligibility Criteria for Ministry of Energy Recruitment 2025
Here are the general requirements all applicants must meet.
- Citizenship: Prospective applicant of this recruitment exercise must be Kenyan citizens with valid National Identity Card or Passport and currently resides in country.
- Age: No applicant is expected to be below 20 years age.
- Basic Qualification: Across board, every candidate applying is expected to hold the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) with at least D+ mean grade including English and Kiswahili languages.
- Clearance: Prospective applicant of this recruitment exercise must possess clearance certificates from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Credit Reference Bureau and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) etc.
- Competencies: Candidates applying for this role must possess good interpersonal and communication skills, be a good team player, result oriented, discipline and also a computer literate.
Requirements for Appointment
Apart from the eligibility criteria, below are the qualifications, work experience and other requirements that makes you suitable for the vacancies advertised.
1. Senior Superintending Geologist
- Persons interested in this position must have first degree or equivalent qualification in either Geology, Engineering, Geochemistry of a closely related discipline.
- Applicant must have successfully served in the capacity of Geologist I for a minimum of three (3) years.
- Candidate must be a registered and licensed member of Geological Society of Kenya (GSK).
- Must have completed a leadership or management training course that lasted for at least one (1) month.
2. Senior Superintending Geophysicist
- Prospective candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in either Physics, Geology or a comparable discipline.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years work experience as a Senior Geophysicist.
- Must have attended a Senior Management training course for at least 4 weeks and as well possess relevant certifications.
3. Senior Superintendent Engineer (Mechanical)
- Prospective applicant of this position must hold a Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Must have graduated from an accredited university in Kenya.
- Should be a registered and recognized member of the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya.
- Must has well possess valid practicing license from the same board.
- Candidate must have at least 3 years work experience as Assistant Engineer I (Mechanical).
4. Senior Superintendent Engineer (Electrical)
- Ideal candidate for this post is one who have already served as an Assistant Engineer I (Electrical) for at least 3 years.
- He or she must hold a recognized degree or equivalent qualification in either Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Applicant must hold professional membership with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya and as well possess a valid practicing license.
- Should also have corporate membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
- Applicant must have successfully completed a 4-week leadership or senior management training course.
5. Renewable Energy Assistant I
- Persons interested in this position must hold a Diploma in either Forestry, Energy, Agriculture or a closely related discipline.
- Applicant must have at least 3 years work experience as a Renewable Energy Assistant II.
- Must be proficient in relevant computer applications.
